Week 3 Day 7

I went to the pool today at 4pm and it was unexpectedly closed. A cycle today may have been quite good as the weather was clear, but cold. As it stands, I did a total of only 40 minutes training this week, all in the gym. I ran a little yesterday and today and my foot still feels sensitive. So I will not run on it at all in the coming week, unless I see a dramatic improvement.

I would like to focus on swimming, strengthening exercises in the gym and do at least one cycle. I also don't want to just wait for my foot to heal. I'd like to use the time to prepare myself mentally, develop the desire in this sport, improve my resolve. I need to have a plan also in terms of how I will train once I am in South Africa. I also need to decide when to enter this race, and see where my injury is at that stage of the game.

I'd like to see December as the crucial month to prep me for South Africa.

Nutrition this week was good and bad. Some healthy meals, but quite a lot of beer towards the end.

The priority is to stay mentally sharp, and focussed. In Week 4 I hope to reorganize a bit more and get into a few workouts that I can develop into a habit, both in terms of gym and swimming. In december I can expand that to cycling, and maybe eventually reach the point where it is safew to run again.

One good thing is that I am healthy. A lot of people around me have colds, so my taking an easy week just as the cold has made its first hit may have been a blessing in disguise.

Improvements: Gym 3 times (30 minutes each)in Week 4, Swim 4 times (8km total), and 1 Cycle.
Take multivitamins and increase consumption of fruit.

Overall assessment of the week: Disappointing. I need to break out of this last pattern with a good week, and then build on it. I also need to reconisder going on eGrip. Posted by Hello
