Polar Cool
Jeremy's trademark are these Charlie's Angels type glasses. Quite cool, seem to suit me a bit but it's a bit showy for me.
My trademark is this Polar fleece tassled hat I bought in Chamonix. Especially in winter I like to wear a skintight Polar fleece top (yes, made by the same company - and it's such a good company). I bought it at a mountain climbing shop near Juyeop - really agonised about buying it because it was so expensive. I'm glad I did because it is propbably my favorite winter thing to wear on my torso - and it's great to run or cycle in too.
My heart rate monitor is also called Polar, so maybe I am biased about the brand. The watch is made in Finland, but I have no idea who makes Polar clothes - probably a US company.
I also have this really warm but shiny top I got for entering the Chuncheon marathon. It just feels, for me, very comfortable and distinctive.
The outer layer has a small taegukgi (Korean flag on it) which sometimes scores a few credits with Koreans who would otherwise be feeling a bit anti-Western.
For the most part people are warm and welcoming, and often approachable, but not always. At Ho Bar in Hongdae some Korean guys who spoke perfect English really brushed off Jeremy bigtime, but kind've half apologised as we left, saying, "I'm sorry I'm just very drunk."
On this night we also got spurned a bit in The Bar, which is usually warm and fuzzy, in the beginning, but people were nice and we found a LOT of friendly people in Hongdae. Sometimes there are exceptions, so you have to be a bit careful at times.
When we left Sinchon to catch a taxi (and we ended up catching a delux black taxi that starts off with a minimal charge of W4000) we saw two Koreans tangling - a taxi driver and his passenger. I took some pictures of them (as I say, having a camera gives you something to do!) before we left. It was quite funny.
