Magic in the Classroom

I got only 3 hours sleep - watched ENVY last night after Bourne. Fortunately I had a cold coffee left from the LG 25 and that did wonders to kick me into action.

Harry Potter was on last night. It's the one with cheezy Gilderoy Lockheart (Kenneth Branagh), author of Magical Me - so I asked how many of my students had seen it. Almost all of them. Boy, is Harry Potter a good way to get a conversation started! If you know a bit about Kid's Culture there is a lot they are going to want to share with you.

I am going to miss the students. Tomorrow is my last day, and the class that was really tough has really grown, and I have grown quite fond of them too. Wendy even gave me her own Air Game. It's amazing what attention, discipline and incentives can do to turn around a neglected class.
I also understand a bit better now why Matt went ballistic on Friday. Apparently I drew a picture of him and that was when the girls started making fun of him. So I am responsible! I don't rememeber drawing him, but it's possible I did. It shows you how careful you have to be. You're dealing with lots of little egos. I do remember that I drew a picture of Harry Potter, including the scar above Harry's eye and that day Matt got a little red cut above his eye, so maybe that was how I drew Matt. It's also likely that I did draw an unflattering picture of him and he took it very badly. Being the only boy in the class has got to give him an inflated sense of importance.

I am definitely operating sub par because I completely forgot to say goodbye to Corneli when I left. It didn't even occur to me.

I saw Jeff at the bakery on my way home.

The little girl in this picture is the daughter of an adult student a used to teach. It's her grandmother that got attacked on the head somewhere in Daegu.  Posted by Hello
