Khannouchi

Khalid Khannouchi is the world's fastest marathoner. He's run 2 hours 5 minutes and 38 seconds in London. As far as I know that's the best time ever. It occurs to me now that I know a lot about the best swimmers and cyclists in the world, but am pretty rusty on the best runners. This time actually makes me realise how impressive Gert Thys is. He is a South African who has run 2:06, and went close to that when he won again here in Seoul earlier this year. I read that marathon runners, some of them, like Thys, train at threshold pace most of time. That is something I tried, but apparently it doesn't work in triathlon. In triathlon you must run slower in order to run faster. Makes sense doesn't it? That's what I thought.  Posted by Hello
