1time Puts Bloem Back on the Map

Bloemfonteiners have the option now to fly cheaply and reliably to Johannesburg for only R369 one-way, using the discount airline, 1time. The first flight, a red DC9, took off yesterday at 8:35, landing in Johannesburg at 9:45. There were 40 passengers, including the crew, but the plane has a capacity for 110.

Passengers will find black leather seats in pairs and threes, and there is more than adequate legroom and storage space.

Return flights are available to and from Johannesburg on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and two return flights on Fridays and Sundays.

Besides 1time, Bloemfontein does have an existing service to Cape Town and Johannesburg, but the local paper was full of complaints that flights are too few, capacity is too limited, tickets are too expensive and that their service has not been reliable.
