Nelspruit - "You stole the child's innocence. The sex acts between you were promiscuous and immoral."
This is what regional magistrate Bertus le Roux told the 30-year-old dentist's receptionist from Barberton, Suzette Lamprecht, when he found her guilty of indecent assault.
Members of the child protection unit in Nelspruit arrested Lamprecht two months ago for having sex with a 14-year-old schoolboy.
The town of Barberton, where Lamprecht works, was abuzz when her sexual relations with the boy came to light.
The two were found out when the boy's parents found raunchy SMS messages that Lamprecht and the boy had sent to each other.
Charges
Lamprecht admitted guilt in court on Thursday to the charges against her. In a plea agreement with the state, she admitted that she had sex with the boy on several occasions.
She also admitted to having sex with him at times when she was supposed to supervise the boy.
Despite her admissions, she said the boy was also to blame. "He was a willing party and sometimes encouraged sex and enticed me," she said in her plea agreement.
She admitted through her legal representative, Johann de Necker, that her actions with the boy were illegal and that she was remorseful.
At the start of the court proceedings, De Necker requested that the case be heard in camera, but the magistrate turned this request down.
Earlier reports indicated that the relationship between Lamprecht and the boy started during a school holiday. At that stage, they apparently only sent SMS messages to each other.
At a later stage, she invited the boy to the rooms of her employer, Dr Barend Jordaan. They apparently had sex at the rooms on several times, including once on a table in the reception room as well as in the dentist's chair.
Invitation
She also invited the boy to her home on one of her off days, where they also had sex. The boy spent the night at the Lamprecht couple's home at their invitation a couple of times.
During sentencing, Le Roux said that some people could see her actions as "a good experience for such a young boy".
"You humiliated him and yourself. I hope you realise what damage you did." Lamprecht, the mother of a six-year-old girl, started crying softly as Le Roux addressed her.
"What would have happened if the relationship did not come to light? There could have been much more serious repercussions," Le Roux said.
"You lost your reputation. I hope you can work through that and live with it."
He sentenced Lamprecht to a fine of R6 000 or 18 months in prison, suspended for three years. "I am sorry," she told a reporter as she left the courtroom.
