Yup, when I was cleaning my class earlier this afternoon I found a small but apparently venomous spider (needle shaped legs as opposed to square tipped legs are the indicator). It had already set up a few silky threads. I think it had decided, "Right, there's a chill in the air so I'm moving in here."
Sorry bud, the first kid who sees you will squish you.
So I maneuvered the fella through a whole in the permanent mosquito netting that seals the window.
You know, no matter how happily my day begins, when I leave the school I feel all that happy energy is sucked out of me. Sometimes in the morning I think, 'I'm doing okay, this is good, I'll stay on longer.' By nightfall I am like, 'Get me out of here.'
I called SAA to ask them if I can't stopover in Hong Kong (so I can fly to Bangkok, maybe hang with the Zelmer's before going snorkeling somewhere). They said my ticket is such that I can't break it into two separate trips. Bummer, but I'm also picturing a holiday in Namibia or Mozambique. These are equally pristine destinations. And Mozambique has corrals reefs as well.
When I got home I did a long overdue garbage extraction. I am just one guy, and I can't believe how much detritus I throw out. Why do they waste so much energy and materials on packaging? Why do you get cereal in a bag, in box that's covered in pictures? When we go to the supermarket, why can't they have juice taps, or soda taps so one can fill up reusable containers (same with detergents). Why buy all the plastic containers and boxes when what you really want is what's inside them?
This weekend I intend to get out. I think there is a hike on the cards with So Young on Sunday, and need to use my rollerblades for a second time this year. The weather seems as though it's gonna be good. Also thinking of bowling, and going to Itaewon to get some money for books I no longer want. Will pick up a phone card as well.
Got another box to pack and some envelopes to fill and send off.
I'd like to go to Yongsan too to add a few more doodahs to my computer. Not sure if I will fit that in this weekend.
Will try to swim on Sunday whether I go hiking or not.
Everyone have a good weekend, and Justus, have a happy birthday.
