Petrol to drop R1.60 next week - just in time for December holidays

If you fill up your car just once, that's a saving of around R75. I'll probably fill mine 6 times in December, since I'm driving to the coast. I'll be 'saving' around R450.
THE RETAIL price of all grades of petrol will decrease by 161 cents a litre on December 3, the minerals and energy department announced on Friday.

This follows the 45 cents drop this month and will be good news on the inflation front. Diesel prices will also decrease, with 0,05% sulphur falling by 81 cents and 0,005% by 80 cents.

Petrol in Gauteng now costs 735 cents a litre from 896 cents before, and it is now 711 cents at the coast from 872 cents before.

The average rand/US dollar exchange rate for the period October 31 to November 27 was 10,1823 compared to 9,5901 during the previous period.
