The danger with this is that it may become cool or the in thing to off yourself on the net to become famous. The positive side (if there is one) is that it may draw attention to the plight of would-be suicides. Suicides are one of the top killers in the world behind heart disease. One of the reasons it is so popular is because it is taboo to talk about.
I know someone who contemplated suicide and after she'd shared this with me I viewed her completely differently. She was a happy, bubbly, funny, crazy young lady, and then she became to me 'someone who doesn't even have the capacity to appreciate the gift of her own life'.
Everyone is allowed to go through a dark stage. It's up to them (and us) to make it back - when it is right, and they are ready to make that choice - into the light. It's shameful those who close the door and lock it, forcing someone like this teen to stay in the passage (ultimately, forever).
