Gay Bond anyone?

Maybe I'm a sexist, misogynist dinosaur - a relic of the Cold War but I'm not sure whether a gay or bisexual Bond would work. I suppose they could start with Moneypenny (since M recently had a sex change) - maybe they could call him Pennypincher.

I have a feeling the mood in the world is becoming more conservative, and less exotic. Technology though might become more exotic, but I have my doubts. I think we are entering a time of fewer choices, and a staple of more basic options. I can't say whether this will extend to entertainment though. In hard times superheroes come to the rescue, but they are clearly defined and color coded (good versus evil), and as such, lacking in both subtlety and sexual ambivalence. Wonder Woman is apparently a lesbian, and Batman is rumored to be gay (hence being so troubled) so you never know...
James Bond

James Bond star Daniel Craig has put the superspy's womanising image in doubt - after admitting he would love 007 to have a same-sex fling.

The British hunk, who is currently filming the hit franchise's latest outing Quantum Of Solace, believes it's time studio bosses modernised the macho role - urging them to turn the secret agent gay.

And the 40-year-old doesn't think the move will damage the legendary lothario's hardman reputation - insisting fans won't be put off by a Bond who prefers boys.

He says, "Why not? I think in this day and age, fans would have accepted it.

No one would bat an eyelid".
