Ailerons and Wingtips

I love taking pictures of aeroplanes. They seem to grafeful, streamlined, like dolphins. When I was a teenager I wrote a short story called Ailerons Are Bits Of Perfection.

Definition: Ailerons are small hinged sections on the outboard portion of a wing. Ailerons usually work in opposition: as the right aileron is deflected upward, the left is deflected downward, and vice versa.

The upward facing wingtips are meant to provide stability - a bit like skegs under a surfboard. Posted by Hello
