South Africa is about having stars in your eyes from all the bright sunlight, and fresh water. Here you can drink the water out of taps. On the road last night, we were treated to a long luminous display of lightning as thunderstorms sailed, like giant ships, over the wide fields. I expected to arrive in Bloemfontein on a boring road but it was all lit up and sparking with electricity. These storms are created by continental climate which creates thunderstorms and powerful convection currents. Here you smell, feel, and see the rain long before it actually touches you. I think the country as a whole is sometimes like that too.
