Run 26 minutes Easy.
Ran to Cyclopede, ran back with my Spinergy in one hand, a bit awkward but okay since I was just running easily. Right leg felt tender, but not sore.
Cycled 30 minutes total, including to Innes Avenues to see Petro Carson's. She diagnosed just muscular weakness in my right leg, and found a bit sore knob in the calf. Did some dry needling too. Will be going back 14 times over the next 6 weeks, and start running gradually. The good news it's not achilles tendonitus. I had a hard time thinking it could be in terms of the fact that I have not put really really excessive strain on it, other than perhaps using new shoes.
I also posted in mid-December that my hamstrings in my right leg were a lot weaker than the left. But glad to have that mystery solved.
Cycled to Cyclopede later to collect (and actually) forgot my new bottle holder. Lighter and more aero, but a bit more awkward than the Titanium that had worn through the screws holding it in place. Did not do much training, but have felt tired so need the rest, especially at this altitude, and with the Standard Triathlon on Sunday.
I think I saw Kate Roberts talking on her cellphone one street away from Cyclopede.
Also saw Jacques Laubsher, who's working as an architect and doing quite well, and chatted to his sister, working at Dimension Data and just returned from Argentina.
Had a good Salmon salad lunch at Primi Piatti with a friend Janet introduced me to.
Seems 15 hours is not going to happen this week, but I'd like to at least get a 100km cycle in tomorrow. Would like to do 60km about the race, maybe in the afternoon.
First things first: 1 Stadard Triathlon.
Projection:
Swim: 24
Cycle: 1:10
Run: 51
Total Time: 2:25 (maybe 2:30 with transitions).
Will I make the Free State team?
