ALERT: Mexican government shuts schools, national museums, theaters and libraries in attempt to contain deadly virus

SHOOT: The death toll for H5N1 is less than 300 over a 5 year period. This swine flu virus has already killed 20 people, possibly 70. The Great fear was that H5N1 would recombine to a deadly form that would be transmissable between human beings. It appears that this deadly step has been 'learned' by jumping via swine herds.

Demand for pesos fell on concern an outbreak of the swine
flu may hurt the economy, said Francisco Diez, director of
foreign-exchange trading at RBC Capital Markets in New York.

The government today confirmed 20 people have died from
swine flu and another 48 deaths are being investigated for ties
to the outbreak, Health Minister Jose Cordova said in a press
conference broadcast on Milenio television. Schools, national
museums, theaters and libraries in the capital district will be
closed indefinitely.
