Chirp of the day...Barry Ronge on Malema

Before you look below the fold and have a good old chuckle, I want to point out something sinister. Where we are exactly is in a situation of slow collapse. It's slow by our fast world standards, but by any standards, it's alarming, and quick. And what are we doing? Continuing to stuff our faces and minds with junk food, infotainment and hopes.
I remember a few months ago when oil hit $147 I wondered whether it was sane to quit my job and go and do something that made sense. Soon, that will no longer be a choice for many people, and not much will make sense as Collapse gains momentum. In the vacuum of Collapse? Is Anarchy. This is the price for vast swathes of the world's population becoming corrupt, and electing corrupt leaders.

Malema, at least, made me listen and even when he made me cross, I didn’t mind too much because that’s what politicians are meant to do. I did, however, think Malema was also as smart as he was outspoken. That changed when he took on Naledi Pandor, our minister of education, mocked her accent, and called her a “spoiled minister”.

That was like shooting himself in both feet while they were still in his mouth. Pandor has an English accent so marked and stylised that it would make some of Britain’s aristos sound like Eliza Doolittle, selling vrot flowers in the gutter.
