Thomas L. Friedman of The New York Times wrote recently: "Israel is facing in Hezbollah an enemy that is unabashedly determined to transform this conflict into a religious war - from a war over territory - and wants to do it in a way that threatens not only Israel but the foundations of global stability."
From a distance, we are now asking, "What in the world can be done?"
