This is not a record I am particularly proud of. Weighed in today at 83.0kg. Unbelievable. That's far and away the most I have ever weighed.
Swim: 0:55
Distance: 2.5km
250m: 3:17 (3 slower than best)
Spoke to two of the guys training for Ironman. They're looking very brown and strong. I'm silently really glad I'm not in the running for this years race. It's so unbearably hot, I'm not sure how they get any meaningful or consistent training done. But I do admire their tenacity.
I felt quite strong in the water, on this set, but the rubber band that attaches paddle to wrist snapped, then again, then again, until it was too short to hold itself. So I swam this set clutching the edge of the paddle with my pinkie.
Arrived at the pool hungry, which effected my energy towards the end. Did not want to swim 3km and then walk out of the pool dizzy. Was surprised at my weight as I didin't even pack lunch for school, and beyond a peach and some bread, hardly ate anything today. What's going on?
Caught a very cheap green bus, and headed towards KFC. The good thing about having a blog is that it prevents you from doing things you know you should not do, because if you're going to report honestly, you really don't want to say you had dinner at KFC.
I was heading toward KFC, this time from the opposite direction to last week. Ducked into a sandwich shop just before I got to it. They had a spaghetti on a special offer: spaghetti and mince for W2 900 (that's about R15). I also ordered a sandwich takeaway, and then did a terrible, terrible thing. I drank some coke.
Going to do another 3 lapper this week, and you know, if I don't see results, I'll just bump up the distance of these runs to 4 laps (2 hours - 18.5km).
