I've been a bit reluctant to post anything because I have to admit, I haven't bothered to train at all this weekend.
It does usually happen that boozing and socialising tends to push aside exercise, and that was the case this weekend.
It wasn't really a case of being excessively excessive. Did have a few beers, and a slight hangover. And the weather has gone from steamy hot to clear and quite cool in the evenings. Last night I was actually cold sitting on a 7th floor balcony having an Americano. Someone also commented that my stomach has gotten a lot bigger - the beers I had on Saturday while watching the rugby obviously added an extra tyre to the tractor tread already there.
That's an incentive to train at a higher level (aka longer and harder, and just plain more).
I finally made it to the grocery store and bought some fruit, and shrimp and mostly not bulky foods, except for bacon and eggs. Am teaching the kids today about the HUnza, who are amongst the healthiest people on Earth, and live the longest. Why? Because they eat what they grow, they can't eat a lot because they can't grow much, and their diet is almost completely vegetarian. Another thing is, since there is so little fireood in the remote region where they live, they can't cook things for very long. Also they consume zero alchohol as their religion forbids it. I want to resume a much healthier standard of eating.
Given the cooler weather, I'd like to be out in the park most days this week. Either running, rollerblading, or cycling early in the morning.
