40/1 "Last Chance"

This was the gist of the message in my 2:45pm meeting today. The incident Thursday was the basis of it. I am not going to debate the fairness of it. I am glad that I am very clear on the rules of this game, and I'm happy to say I am feeling even more motivated to finish my term here. I'm exactly half way.

In a way it is perfectly timed, because the way I need to adapt now is to be self disciplined in terms of controlling myself, even if the students aren't in control. There's no use wasting time or energy on thoughts about fairness or justifications. Just do your job, and get it done.

Over the last few days the Hal Urban book has been very useful. I've set specific and actionable goals in at least 10 areas of my life, so I am feeling a lot more oriented and purpose driven. This meeting provides me with an added incentive to perform, and I believe I will succeed.

Rowan has agreed to run with me on Thursdays. I'm going to do two laps again tonight. I'm motivated to get ready for both the Terry Fox 10km and I intend to do well in my last triathlon in Korea, in Ulgin, in early October.
