Today I wore the Billabong stuff Corneli brought back from Thailand. I must say, there are not many jobs where you can go to work looking like a beach bum.
There have been a few heavy bursts of rain today. Hopefully it won't rain like that after 11pm because I'd like to do a run then.
At school Sharon seemed upset. When I asked her about it she said her father was undergoing surgery then for lung cancer, and she was worried about him. I asked whether he was a smoker, and she said, "No." I suggested she pray for him and hoped he would be all right. It's not an easy thing, is it, and it certainly put my dilemas into perspective.
I was excused from teaching the 2nd last class (the one that has caused a 'situation') at the very last minute. Someone may have lost his nerve. Anyway it is good for me because I get to go home half an hour earlier. (Ek hoop net nie hy gaan later terug kom en se hy gaan my minder betaal. Dis sy besluit om my van daardie klas af te gee... More is betaal dag, so ons sal sien wat gebeur).
My lower legs were red and itchy this morning. I think some miggie had a field day..er...night...last night, biting and sucking me in a few different spots on both legs. Actually, a team of them must have formed a posse and made a co-ordinated attack, because it just seems like quite a lot of biting went on behind my back (so to speak). I've thrown my sheet and duvet cover into the wash and turned my matress round. I think whatever has been eating me has found loads of dry skin flakes lying around. After Cheorwon I got quite sunburned and a shed a fair amount of skin off my arms and back.
I'm managing to download the 2003 Tour de France as well. It's awesome watching it on my computer while I am cycling on my bike (mounted on an indoor trainer). I'm really enjoying that. The next session is Tuesday, unless a Typhoon hits in the next hour or two.
It's been an interesting day because I've felt motivated and quite joyful today. I think it is in part to the material I'm reading, the material I'm writing and the boost from a few days of exercise.
Thoughts for the day:
"If you can't make a mistake, you can't make anything" - Marva Collins
"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent" - Eleanor Roosevelt
