The world total for confirmed deaths is at 4551. Most of these are in Brazil, the USA, Argentina and Mexico.
In South Africa the toll is up to 59, with by far the most deaths recorded in the Western Cape, at 33, the Eastern Cape second with 7, followed by Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal with 6 each.
