I came here last with Jared and Sally, and this trip was similar in a way, though I'm not going to say why.
The temple itself is the oldest in Korea, or so they say. It's certainly a sight worth seeing, twice even. And we had a gorgeous day to see and feel the bright thin rays streaming through the weakening yellow leaves.
Corneli and I went with So Young and her parents. We travelled in style - it's unusual to see Mercedes Benz anywhere in Korea, much less drive around in one.
We also ate very healthy and tasty food (Kalguksu and Mandu). So Young's dad worked as a developer, and spoke to us about a trip to Alaska. Quite interesting as I watched a documentary last night on that fascinating wilderness.
But the real star was the temple and surrounding hillside. Once again I overestimated the winter chill. My computer told me it was 9 C outside, but it was more like 19 C.
After a nice walk up the hillside, I plugged in my iPod and snored most of the way home. Got back in time for a 40 minute swim at Olympic Sport Centre - so all in all a decent day and a colorful weekend.
