Rita weakened just before striking land, and turned far enough East to spare Galveston and Houston a direct hit. But places like
Johnson's Bayou and Holly Beach are apparently 'gone'.
Katrina and Rita may be thin air, or fast becoming, but the toll in lost refining capacity (time already lost) is still to be paid.
And we have over
60 days of Hurricane Season left. And then we can look forward to an even more action packed sequel, called
Hurricane Season 2006.
