We're seeing some some very
unusual activity in the Atlantic. Hurricanes being borne well West from their usual spawning grounds.
They're moving fast, and there are so many of them that the Hurricane Centre may well run out of names this year.
Each year the Hurricane Centre reserves
21 common names for Atlantic Basin storms. Rita is number 17. There are
4 left (q, u, x, y and z aren't used).
After 'Wilma' the National Hurricane Centre reverts to the Greek alphabet. Hurricane Alpha? Hurricane Omega?
