Why this country disgusts me

SHOOT: Is a man's life worth a couple of cellphones, laptops and wedding rings?

Maritz said the robbers cut through two fence wires to get onto the property. "They've ruined my sister's life and her children's lives too."

SHOOT: In South Africa I'd say it's worth even less. I'd like to see that change in my lifetime.

Thirteen-year-old Monique, a Grade 7 pupil at the Cullinan School, told how she, her brother and their mother, Amanda Locke, 43, were chatting in the living room when the dogs started barking fiercely just after 23:00. Her father was already asleep at that stage.
"My mom at first tried to calm the dogs down through the window. When she couldn't get them to be quiet, she went outside with a torch to stop them from barking."
"Just as my mother stepped outside the door, she was grabbed by a man. We think he was hiding behind the wall at the front door," said Monique.
At that stage Monique was right behind her mother. She saw one attacker grab her mother, and then saw that two others were coming straight at her.
"I ran inside the house to wake up my dad. When he came around the corner at the living room door, they shot him in the heart."
"He fell on the floor in front of the couch. One of the robbers then told my mother to sit down."
"I sat down next to my dad and held him tightly," Monique told
