Trip 1, Take 2

Here's the latest update to my itinerary:

Depart Seoul: 25 December at 19:45
Stopover at Hong Kong: 1hr 15 minutes
Depart Hong Kong: 23:50
Arrive Johannesburg: 26 December: 07:10 (SA 287)
Stay with Alex and Janet Otto. Maybe go for a cycle. Possibly meet Juliet and Dean and go for a swim at the same pool where Ryk trains, or swim in the gym. Hopefully have my first braai!

Depart Johannesburg: 27 December: (09:00).
Arrive Cape Town: 27 December: 11:00. Allan and Toby pick me be me up. Head to Gordon's Bay, have lunch at the Van Riebeeck Hotel right on the beach.

Note: It's not clear whether they have organised a car, and which way we'll head from the airport - towards Kleinmond, or back to Cape Town.
If they can't make it, Mandy will fetch me, and we'll go to the dam from there.
I'd prefer to have a day or two in or around Cape Town to sort out, amongst other things, my driver's license, and go to a podiatrist.
27th: Sleep with the the extended Muir family, need to confirm where.
Temporarily Leave Cape Town

28th/29th - Go to the traffic department. Sort out driver's license and then go with Mandy to the Theewaters dam near Caledon, around the 29th. Like to do a Hangklip cycle, a quick swim at Strand before I go. Need to find out exactly where the dam is. Swim and Run while at the dam, and maybe MTB. Just have fun, windsurf, and recharge.)

New Years At Theewaters Clubhouse...there is a braai and a few Windhoeks, and will be good if Allan and Toby join us at the Clubhouse, aswell as Mandy's family and friends.

1st New Years Day.
Idea:
Get an early start, around 9:30am, on the Panorama Route. Climb onto the Dwarsberg Plateau (about 1300m), and from there break off the path and head straight toward Victoria Peak.
Return along the Panorama route again, but avoid the steep zigzag descent called Kurktrekker. This is a 17km hike.

Would also like to try Tweede Waterval (6,4 km) which is a scenic and easy walk with Eerste River in sight for most of way, then up a fairly steep section to the gorge.

2nd Return from the dam. Cycle to Hangklip and back. Swim at Strand pool.

2nd Afternoon: Wine Route, possibly Spier, in the area around Stellenbosch and Somerset West. Spend the day with Michelle, Michael and Lesley and her folks during the afternoon and evening. Maybe have dinner at the Waterfront or somewhere in Claremont. Swim at Newland's pool if possible, or the next morning, if in Cape Town.

If possible I'd like to sleep in the Strand area, or Somerset West, as the next day I must go to Kleinmond. Perhaps I can have my stuff driven to Kleinmond and I can cycle there. It's about 100km.

3rd: Lesley leaves. Try to sort out my driver's license in the city if I haven't already. Leave for Kleinmond, possibly at around lunch time after a swim.
4th Kleinmond
5th Kleinmond
6th Return to Cape Town early in the morning. Run at Tafelberg Road/Swim at Long Street Pool/VA Point. See what is happening with Butler's and Mr Delivery. Find out about AAA diploma, and Jet Programme.
Meet Hugo and Marcelle if they're around.
6th Climb Table Mountain/or cycle up Signal Hill.
Stay at Ashanti Lodge if accomodation is available, or elsewhere in the area.
Eat in Kloof, and have at least one dinner at Bhukhara or Mama Africa.
7th Maak 'n draai in and out of Oranjezicht. Check out my old homes in Prince, Davenport and Flower road.
Leave early for a drive (take bike along)around the peninsula(hopefully I'll be license to drive by then), but first swim at Newlands, or Constantia VA.
Visit Muizenburg and Fishoek. Leave the car at Simonstown, cycle up Red Hill and make a loop to come back in through Simonstown.

7th-9th Last weekend in Cape Town.
Cape Town End.

10th Monday - drive to J-Bay. Meet family at Tico's. Run 10km en route - maybe coming down into Nature's Valley or on the beach at Plettenberg Bay.
Stay 1 week, and visit Marelize if she's in PE.
Cycle on the course a few times.
Swim at the local Virgin Active or Aquabears pool.
Visit Debbie.
Run every morning along the beach.

17th/18th January - Bloemfontein, unless there is a heatwave.
Stay with Dad and/or CJ.
Get into a good training pattern. Some 100km cycles, some 15km runs
(maybe go up to Johannesburg for my birthday on the 19th, return on 23rd January. See Allan and Alex.)
24 January - 29th January - Kalahari, with the family.
31st January + 4 weeks. Serious training begins a little late, but by now I am refreshed and keen, and hopefully my foot is OK.
Concentrate on cycling.

5th February: WP Olympic Triathlon Champs at Club Mykonos. Maybe fly there and back.
If I don't do this, go with Alex on a cycling training camp near Pilgrim's Rest.

Sign up with Simon.
Some 120 km cycles.
Training in the gym with CJ.
One 25km run.
Cycle 180-200km on February 20.
(Possibly go to Corneli's brother's wedding in Kroonstad before leaving Bloem.)
Bloemfontein End

1/2/3-7 March Jeffreys Bay (If possible stay with Tico or Lesley's folks, or just stay in a B&B)
J-Bay End

8-19 March: PE - training on the race route. Easy.
20 March Ironman RACE.
21 March PE Relax
PE End

22 March Cape Town. Many bye byes.
23 March Depart Cape Town for Hong Kong: 09:40 SA 7800
Cape Town, South Africa, End

24 March Sightseeing in Hong Kong
25 March Tefl in Thailand/Korea/Who knows
New Beginning. Who knows where...maybe back in Ilsan...

The Plan as it stands on December 2. I can see training and being all over the place is going to be VERY tough, but fun when I get round to it.
