Eyes On The Ball

"Forget the dance. Focus." Jerry Maguire

Despite being really sleep-deprived, I felt like I got a lot done today. I packed more of my stuff earlier this morning, I wrote out three different Mission Statements (and used part of one as an illustration in my adult class), typed and printed The Real Game for the rehearsal Friday, and I added grains of wisdom and knowledge to sheer entertainment in many of my lessons.

It was story day today and I had quite a good mix of easy words and good illustrations describing a Classic Abduction, and the other was a specific experience (The Travis Walton case in Florida, November 1975). I made copies of these, and where necessary, the Korean teacher provided an explanation or translation. The kids were very interested. Their faces, when we went into the abduction scenario, were perfectly attentive. Rapt. At the very least I've stimulated their curiosity. At the most they will take the clues and find their own answers. I hope they do, whatever they are.

I felt inspired, and as though I was inspiring, with my adults today. We were exploring Synergy, and the one area we looked at was Synergy in the Classroom. Everyone knows when Synergy happens,I can't see it, but I can feel it. It's magical. It's a great area to focus on.

Tomorrow I'm wrapping up the last habit with them. I'm doing no: 7, Sharpening the Saw. To end the week on a lighthearted note, I'm going to print out some of the Jerry Maguire quotes I found and have them do them as a role play.
SHOW! ME! THE! MONEY! That should be a hoot. I really want to hand over the Talking Time to them as much as I can in tomorrow's lesson. I want to hear their opinions, their input, their response to all the things we've covered this week.

I'm especially happy about the run today. I'd like to remain focussed as the days grow colder and darker towards Christmas.
