Eminem Goes Running

My heart rate monitor is hanging on by a thread. It doesn't have enough battery power to read the signal from the chest strap, and when you hit the light button, the entire LCD display goes off and comes back with every piece that can show LCD on. And then it's suddenly Tuesday the 20th, 10am. So that's gonna have to be fixed in Seoul next Friday.

I ran with the Polar today and it would have been interesting to see how high my heart rate went, because I burned it on a few stretches around Lake Park. Night running is nice, because the reality of running is somehow lessened, and instead it feels like you're floating or flying through the semi-darkness. I used to love doing that in Hout Bay. You run through a patch of forest and it's all pitch black. It's just you, your breathing, your heartbeat.

Tomorrow the gym is closed, so I'd like to swim if it's open, and cycle if it's not, even if the Park is really busy. Maybe I'll take my camera along and have some fun while I'm at it.
