What Was That?

Went to the video store and while Corneli was getting the usual TV-star celebrity treatment I heard a song that reminded me of another song. I just couldn't place it, but it stuck in my head.

I started humming it on the way home.
The House of hmmmm hm hmmmmm.
The House of Sand and Fog?
Googled that and it was a movie.
Googled lyrics and 'House of...'
No luck.
But google, trustworthy sidekick that it is in the internet jungle, directed me, after some trial and error, hit and miss, to Martin Page's CD and a demo of his song on Amazon: In the House of Stone and Light.

I read the lyrics and a bio. Didn't know he was a staunch Catholic, and only 23 years old. He sounds - at first note - like a Springsteen-esque quality crooner. No. He's an engineer and his songs are all gospel. That gave me some clue as to how I first heard him. Think one of my buddies who was into Marc Cohn must have pointed me to Page on my crooked path home from church.
I shall not cry for the blind man I leave behind...
Those were the happy clappy days.

The song sounded a little better in my head, but the wonder is how google gets to link thought sparks to accurate facts and other reality checks.

I reckon Google's a top 10 name for a dog.
