IT’S the sort of telephone call every mother dreads. “Hi, mom. I’m a prostitute ...”
And so it was for 46-year-old Carolyn Capalbo, whose daughter, Ashley, was this week unmasked as “Kristen”, the call- girl who brought down New York Governor Eliot Spitzer.
Capalbo told the New York Times that she was “shell- shocked” when her daughter called to tell her she had been working as an escort and was in trouble with the law.
“She is a very bright girl who can handle someone like the governor,” she said. “But she is also a 22-year-old, not a 32-year- old or a 42-year-old, and she got involved in something much larger than her.”
