Ode to Joy

After much tossing and turning I finally headed to Dreamland at about 8:30am. The phone rang at some point, which was an awesome opportunity to stretch my legs, and get a bit of mid morning exercise. It was a wrong number, but he sounded like a really nice guy, even though I couldn't understand what he was saying or why he was calling.
I clapped my hands together and said, "This is going to be a GREAT day."

Actually, that's an exaggeration. I didn't do that.

Later someone rang my doorbell. This was also a brilliant chance to do a quick run to the door. The old woman seemed surprised that I had opened the door at all, and looked me up and down in some surprise.
I said, "Kenshanayyoh." Roughly that means: "It's okay," or "Are you okay?"
I couldn't understand what the old woman was saying, but ajumahs knocking on doors, giving out booklets is a pattern here. Presumably she's a Seventh Day Adventist or just someone trying to sell some kind of religion. It was stunning meeting her, and it was brilliant getting some fresh, ice cold air into my apartment. It really needed that.

I've made some preparations for school today which turned out to be premature. There is supposed to be a big presentation, and for some reason I was led to believe it was this Friday. So I got some stuff ready unnecessarily, or at least, unnecessarily early.
I also went to school early today because I thought we would at least do some kind of rhearsal or prep for the presentation, which is now definitely next week. That was also unnecessary because no students turned up early. They'll probably come at the usual time. I wish I'd known because I could have used the extra time to visit the docotr or go for a cycle.

The sky is blue today, and so am I. Posted by Hello
