Vanilla, daughter of Laugh it Off satirist, Justin Nurse and Camilla Colley, died last week when the car she was sitting in caught fire.
Police said Colley and Vanilla had come home to their house in Capri Village near Fish Hoek from a shopping trip on Wednesday afternoon.
Colley left Vanilla in the car while she carried the shopping bags inside. She heard the car alarm go off, ran outside and found their black Honda Jazz in flames.
Colley tried to get her daughter out of the car, sustaining minor burn wounds in the process. Vanilla died on the way to the hospital.
Klatzow told Eyewitness News that this was one of the most distressing cases he had dealt with over the last 20 years. |
