South Africa joined England in the Rugby World Cup final after it pounced on three Argentine turnovers in the first half and cruised to a 37-13 victory Sunday night in the Stade France.
The game was both surprisingly free-flowing and surprisingly one-sided.

It was very different from the grim, tense trench warfare of the night before. England continued its unexpected trudge through the knockout stages when it beat France, 14-9.

The semifinal Sunday was played in a muted atmosphere. The game the previous night began in a barrage of noise. These were the two best supported teams in the competition and their fans seemed to be riding the wave of adrenaline from their upset victories the week before.

On Sunday, there were as many spectators wearing yellow Australian shirts as the dark green of South Africa or the sky blue of Argentina. It was not clear if the many fans in black were New Zealanders or French in mourning.
