Steely Dawn on Rovos Rail

Transnet have indicated that they would like a greater emphasis on the use of rail transport. Currently the bulk of freight is carried on the backs of giant trucks from one end of South Africa to the other. Did you know that long distance hauling (using trucks) is one of the most energy wasting things we do today? The cost to the roads alone is enormous. I think it's a good move, and will prove to be a very wise one when fuel costs hit triple digits, whenever that is.
