Field Of Dreams
Once down Sani I drove through to small towns, Himeville and Underberg, and spoke to some people, took some shots of not very impressive accomodations. Then, at the local Country Club, I was referred to a farmer and polo player called Brian Hein. On his stoep we discussed polo while at least twenty beautiful brown (ex-race)horses glistened and neighed in a nearby paddock.
After some tea he took me to a hill behind his lovely farmhouse. He comes here in the evenings, with about six horses, and whallops the ball. Imagine rounding off a day like that, up here, with the sun going down over these beautiful mountains. Magic.
Once done, I followed his directions to another Polo farm (and school), Jurassic Park, which is about 10km from Swartberg - a one horse town where the horse has long since died.
