Diarrhea For an Added Dimension

I spent only 15 minutes at the pasta party LAST NIGHT. It was a real feast, with plenty of free salads, fruit, cans of fruit juice and joke for free on each table. Well, not for free, paid for in advance as part of the entry fee. I twiddled my extra yellow pasta party ticket (R200) in my fingers while I nibbled on my pasta in a corner close to the big screen.
The weather seemed to be turning a bit foul - misty and chilly and blustery.

I walked back to the hotel with a guy from Grey PE, Chad I think. He told me he narrowly avoided being attacked by someone just behind me.
I considered going to Toby Joe's, just felt like I needed a bit of a lift, but felt too flat so just turned in early after watching UNFORGIVEN. Pretty good sleep while the wind and drunkards howled outside.

I had a rude awakening at about 4am, and spent about 30 minutes doubled over in the loo. I've made about a dozen more vitits, but feel a bit better now.
I met Xavier at the pool after lunch, who is number 4 on the list of competitors and one of the favorites. I met another french athlete and three french girls (also competing) at lunch time at the Humewood Hotel. It was then that I realised my stomach pain was not from a late night puie, but from the pasta we had.

As I say, it seems to be a lot better now.
I have racked my bike and left my cycle and run goodies on the racks.
Saw Mauritz and his brother on the beach, had a bit of a chat (they are doing the Two Ocean's)and one or two other familiar faces.
I will need to see whether my rear ZIPP wheel has deflated at all overnight, as it has a tendency to do that. Not too worried about that, but need to check it.

Have been reading THE POWER OF POSITIVE THINKING (which is proving to be quite useful for the Ironman) and am going to keep my mind clear of the debris, and concentrate on happy and constructive patterns. I need to have low immediate expectations, but maintain the Dream of the Finish Line.

Had a good sleep last night, but tonight I will probably get only 4-5 hours sleep.
Want to swim slow, cycle the first two laps well within my capability, and I see the race developing from the 120km point on the bike. From then on, I'm going to need some guts, and perhaps a little luck.

I can't promise any photos as I don't really have anyone on hand to take pictures.
Have made a plan with Mauritz so we will have to see how that works out.
Think of me because if I can do this, it proves that we are all capable of doing more than we think or say we can. If I can do this, I can inspire you to reach to your strengths and inner powers. As I sit here, I really have no idea whether I can. But I am willing to try, for a 3rd time. Wish me luck and endless resources of energy...
