Curry leaves (Curry Patta) used as the main ingredient for seasoning in some countries. The leaves are beneficial for reducing blood sugar. Each part of the plant provides some benefit. The dried leaves are extensively used in herbal medicines.

Coriander (Dhana). Both the leaves and seeds are used in cooking. It also has some medicinal uses. It can be used externally on aching joints and for rheumatism. It is also good for coping with sore throats, allergies, digestion, hay fever and so on.

  • Asafoetida (Hing) Used for seasoning food, especially snacks and pickles. It also has medicinal value . It is a good remedy for whooping cough and stomachache caused by gas.

  • Cardamom (Elachi) used to give a good flavour and smell. Also used in desserts and in baking.
  • It is used widely in the pharmaceutical sector. Helps to control bad breath and digestive disorder. A whole cardamom chewed is good for coping with diabetes.

  • Chilli ( Mircha) used for adding hot flavour to food. The antioxidants present in chillies help to cope with cholesterol. It also helps to burn kilojoules.
  • Cinnamon (Dalchini) used mainly for seasoning food. It has many medicinal uses too. It supports natural production of insulin, reduces blood cholesterol and relaxes the nervous system.
