In Britain, Swine Flu cases breach new record for infections-in-a-day

SHOOT: So you have a scenario where people are getting flu almost in mid-summer, and the experts say, "Can I reassure people the symptoms of this virus remain consistent with those of normal seasonal flu ." That's code for, "everything normal, continue as usual". Really? So you have these cases spreading out of season...and it's proved to have mastered infiltrating our species. Do we now trust in wishing and hoping the virus doesn't grow up, into an adolescent, and mature into a more lethal strain, as every other living organism does? How smart is that?

Swine flu vaccine
The government has reported 43 new confirmed cases of swine flu - the largest one-day rise so far, bringing the total to 232.

All of the new confirmed cases are non-travel related.

"I expect that we will continue to see the number of cases rise over the coming weeks.
