Dell made $3 million using Twitter

SHOOT: Well, how much have YOU made? [And..er...what are you waiting for?]

It wasn’t an overnight thing; Dell’s been on Twitter for two years. But Dell blogger Stephanie Nelson says they’ve managed to steadily grow followers for their outlet store via @DellOutlet, earning $2 million from their refurbs and another $1 million from people who brought other Dell products “by offering a mix of Twitter-exclusive offers, Dell Outlet deals and Outlet-specific updates and information.” The account now has 600k followers.

For Dell, $3 million is almost a rounding error. The number-two PC maker has a market cap of $26 billion and cleared $290 million in the last quarter alone. But it isn’t chump change, either, and cost them virtually nothing.
