Israel's Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni has repeatedly stressed that by weakening Hamas in Gaza, the Israeli military operation will boost moderate Arab leaders threatened by radical Islamist groups. But the opposite may be occurring, as pan-Arab cable news channels carry around-the-clock coverage of civilian suffering in Gaza. - TIME
NVDL: The probem is when you end up blowing up schools and hospitals,
with the (second) UN school the latest, killing 34 children. When any army kills a lot of children, it is difficult to have any sympathy for such an army, nor should we.
Israel says its military offensive in Gaza has dealt Hamas a heavy blow, but that's not how the leaders of the radical Palestinian group see it. And their view is based more on a kind of jujitsu that uses Israel's military momentum against its own political objectives, rather than on any serious belief in rhetoric about the organization's "steadfast" fighters being able to "crush" the invaders.
(See pictures of Israel's sweep into Gaza.) The militant group is operating on a belief that Israel's assault cannot be sustained in the face of growing international pressure for a cease-fire. In fact, Hamas believes it is winning the political battle, as images of the horrors being suffered by the Palestinian civilian population flash around the world. And it wants to ensure the survival of as much of its military and organizational capability so as to best profit from the eventual truce.

oh and you have also forgotten to add that there are also reports of Hamas militants firing at the israelly army from within the school.
Nothing like using innocents as your shield.

I usually post these links. Its a bit of a swipe to ask if I am making it up though.
There is something irrational about firing at a shield of innocents (children) to get to your precious terrorists. Once again it takes the view that the lives of your opposition (the infidels, the heathen whatever) hold no value. Once you do that, they do the same. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.
yeah but not doing anything while somebody stabs you over and over doesn't help either.
Though I read your entire source and it says nothing about 34 children dead. I am not saying you are wrong, or lying, or making this up, I am just wondering where you were sourcing your information as I just can't seem to find it. Unless I am reading it wrong and you mean ever the entire period of the war?
Unfortunately in any war there are civilian casualities. But when you are involved in a war and you place your children in front of you, to create a greater feeling of press sympathy, so people like you cry and beat your chest about the horror of it, rather then place your children somewhere safe and lead the fighting away from them there is something definately wrong with you.
It speaks the mentality of the hamas regime.
When you sit and shoot missiles from the grounds of a UN school, and use UN ambulances as your transport, then you are purposely trying to hurt your own people for the sake of media attention, there is somehing beyond disgusting about it.
Maybe you should watch a news bulletin like everyone else. I'm not looking under rocks for my information. It's one of the big stories.
I am certain you're prepared to defend your views and blame Hamas etc. Frankly I am not interested in such a debate. A better debate would be about find points to agree on and taking responsibility for what's not working.
So was it on SABC news?? Sorry I am just curious about your 34 children dead in a scholl comment. It is there HIGHLIGHTED, on your post, and I cannot seem to find that fact. It is not on the BBC website, the CNN website, the Yahoo website, or any others of the many websites I have trolled.
It wasn't on your link that you provided to me.
I just find it wierd that a website, that is posing as a news distributor needs to lie about information. I find it just plane wierd, especially when you give inaccurate and misinformation, for the reason of... what?
All I asked for was a link to the information and I would have been content. Yet it seems to be something that you cannot provide. why not just change your text to actually make it accurate?
But anyway each to there own I suppose, make up facts to create something to bring people to your site I suppose is not something new or different on the web, so I suppose I should just let it go.
Enjoy.

There is a link above, and if you go back and look at the green text in the original article it links you to relevant news.
There is also a thing on the internet called GOOGLE. You should try it. You might learn how to be less of an idiot.
Maybe I am an idiot but i still miss the highlighted 34 CHILDREN DEAD IN THIS ATTACK.
Again why use this made up figure. I cannot understand...
There are contraditory reports of between 30 - 40 PEOPLE being killed, and some being identified allegedly as Hamas Operatives...
Those are very different (again alleged) facts. But of course you don't seem to care. Why not say exactly what you are saying except without the made up information?
I am not complaining about the fact you say a school was hit, that is true, I am just wondering the need to make up the extra information about children... The UN are quoting 30 dead and 55 injured, which is already less then your figure of 34 CHILDREN killed. How is it possible that more children were killed then the total people killed.
But you just call me an idiot and carry on making up facts to suit your headlines...
Thanks, will do. In the meantime, pick up a copy of The Star. (Look on the front page). Let's leave it at that shall we.
yes I saw it... Quite unbelievable that it is also publishing as facts, information that differs from the information directly from the UN, and all other international media broadcasting out of the area, no wonder you use it as a good source.
Obviously the star has sources in gaza that no other news broadcaster has, them and you keeping those sources close to your chest.
It is actually weirdly amusing that you won't actually change incorrect information. Why won't you? What is the reason? Can you not put up a correction? Does it go against some weird moral structure that once you have put it up it must be truth even if it is wrong? Funny.
JP it took me a while to cotton on to what you're saying. You're right, there is an error. Well done.
But through all your nitpicking about the details you seem blind to the obvious point - that Israel is shelling a school, a UN school. And well over a 100 children have already died.
So while you are nitpicking about details, you have this really clear reality in the headlines. And you spend your day defending what might not be facts.
Meanwhile Israel itself is ready to start peace talks, knowing that sentiment is turning. Anyway, carry on - all it proves is that you're a perfectionistic jerk that can't see what's obvious, and you appear to lack common sense.
I am also not going to waste any more of my time talking to someone I don't really think makes worthwhile or constructive conversation. Got that?
