The Latest Bestselling T-Shirt: "You bloody idiots!"

The world got a sample of Robert Mugabe's rage last night, courtesy of ITN and YouTube.

Mugabe shouted, "You bloody idiots!" at the broadcaster's correspondent Julian Manyon, and at the British in general, after being asked on what basis he considered himself president of Zimbabwe.

One of his bodyguard's reportedly roughed up Manyon, while others held back Mugabe himself. "We are not a British colony," Mugabe said repeatedly and dismissed Manyon's questions as "stupid".

Egyptian security has responded to the incident by imposing more restrictions on journalists covering the African Union summit in Sharm el-Sheikh.

The spat appeared to underline Simon Tisdall's assessment that "Mugabe is weakened, but he still won't back down."
