How Green Does Your Garden Grow...

My father emailed me this picture today.

It's taken just outside what was once my room in a house in Bloemfontein where I grew up. The house is located only a few minutes from Grey College, the university, and Mimosa Mall. Unlike most houses in the neighborhood, our lawn stays green in winter, and the garden is quite a beauty. My father is a kind've amateur botanist. He knows a few latin names of flowers and trees. Both his sisters have also produced beautiful gardens in Hout Bay and Veldrif.
The swimming pool, out of picture, is to the right, and the golf course is where the sprayers are in the distance.

It's warm and sunny in South Africa now. Wish I was there. In 2 weeks I will be. Posted by Hello

I think the trampoline is still there, behind the flower bed. The flower bed that's there now used to be a hump, but that was always a bummer to mow. The trampoline was getting pretty worn through by the sun, and dogs and other things going bump in the night. It was stitched up and repaired, but got worn out again. Will investigate when I there. From the quality of this picture it looks like my dad has bought a pretty top notch digital camera.
