1000 Hits, 4 000 000 Abducted, 0 Training

Wow! Just over a month after starting this blog we've had 1000 hits. Thanks for coming, and please feel free to post a message or browse around.

Today is a drizzly, cold, miserable day. If it gets any colder we might see some snow.

I will emerge from my cozy cocoon for a solitary trip to the gym. Today I am not very motivated to train.

I've been investigating (some would say distracted by)the UFO phenomenon, and after last night's movie, seeing to what extent the movie The Forgotten may be inspired by real events. The fact is, there is a fantastic amount of lore on the subject. Today you can buy alien blow up dolls, t-shirts and masks. It's easy to see it all as parody.
On the other hand, once all the research is done, and I find I am holding what I feel is conclusive proof, I think it is fair to say: So what? So what? Are aliens or abdusctions an everyday reality for me or for anyone I know? So why worry about it? It's an interesting point. I am not worrying, I am curious. This is an enigma, an interesting one, and it's one of life's mysteries.

I'd like to flesh out some of the stuff I've found on the web, but this really isn't the place for it. This blog is devoted to the science and psychology of approaching the Ironman race.

Curiosity killed the cat, and my mental travelling is having an impact on the focus I need to have for everyday training.

But you are free to explore:

These websites offer some interesting information:

Abduction by Aliens or Sleep Paralysis?
Susan Blackmore
A Roper Poll claimed that nearly four million Americans have had certain "indicator" experiences and therefore had probably been abducted by aliens. But a study of 126 school children and 224 undergraduates shows knowledge of aliens is related more to watching television than to having the relevant experiences.

http://www.crystalinks.com/abduction.html:

Includes: Classic abduction experience (illustrated), Possible Signs That You Have Been Abducted, Famous abduction cases, The Brooklyn Bridge Abduction etc. The rest of this website is also interesting.

The website calls itself: The World's best UFO contact case.

Believe it, or fart. Let me know what opinions you have, or have formed recently, on this subject.
