Durban - A letter sent to a Durban newspaper - allegedly sent by members of President Jacob Zuma's family - contains allegations that the president's second wife, Nompumelelo Ntuli Zuma, had an affair with her bodyguard.
The bodyguard, Phinda Thomo from Dobsonville, Soweto, allegedly committed suicide when the affair was discovered.
It emerged last week that MaNtuli is pregnant. The paternity of her unborn child is now being disputed.
City Press reported on Thursday that the letter was sent to Zulu language newspaper Ilanga by "concerned family members". Several of Zuma's children are believed to be behind the letter, according to sources.
The letter - which is in the possession of City Press - contains allegations of infidelity, suicide and even false qualifications. MaNtuli's credentials as a nurse are questioned.
MaNtuli is currently in India with Zuma. There has been recent media speculation about marital problems between Zuma and MaNtuli. They were married in 2008.
