Director

Although I enjoy writing, and I feel like I have something to say, I think I am evern more of a round peg in a round hole when it comes to Directing. That means, being behind the camera.

Today I went on a shoot to Parkview Golf course and was basically a fifth wheel observing an interview etc. I found myself getting very agitated because the cameramen just didn't seem to be aware of a wider context - the background etc. That said to me a lot about me; that I have a passionate 'gut feel' about how I want to render reality.

I think that comes through quite strongly in my photography too, and also in my writing, which has a strong 'visual style'.

I'd like to begin to move more into a direction where I will be able to generate documentary/film content. So I'm going to make that a broad goal and see to what extent I can pursue that while I necessarily have to pursue other things (to put bread on the table).

I seem to have found a place nearby that can replace my engine timing belt. My first quote was R7000, the second R6100 and the third R5700. Pays to shop around.

I'm going running with Janet at 16:30. Head is a bit scratchy, but it's been almost 2 weeks since I last ran, and I am really tired of being sedentary. I also feel like it is a health risk to allow so much time to go by and one is just sitting on one's butt stewing in toxins.

Also called up someone who Nora (from Q) referred me to. Have been invited to some get-together on Saturday night. Should be good.
