Another Record?

I am interested to see how long this years Hurricane record will last. You may recall, for the first time ever, we ran out of names (running through the alphabet) to name all the Hurricanes of this year). If 2006 has more Hurricanes than this year, it will probably mean Ocean temperatures increasing at a dangerous tempo. And it may mean more storms for 2007 and beyond. That, on its own, has some serious implications too, bearing in mind that the USA has some big urban centres around the Gulf, and plenty of oil refineries left to storm.
The only way we'll know, as with Peak Oil, is once the next Hurricane season has come and gone.

The Atlantic hurricane season lasts six months and officially ended Wednesday. Epsilon is the 26th named storm of the busiest hurricane season on record.
