Last week I was writing about happiness...
Interesting.
Yesterday there was an interesting moment at Heartland. I was working, calling people and making arrangements for Heartland's distribution. Unbeknownst to me (always wanted to say that) I was trespassing. You know that feeling when you come home and a stranger is in your home. No matter what their intentions, you feel it is an invasion, that this person is an invader.
Unfortunately the editor hadn't mentioned me to any of his colleagues, even though I have two articles in the magazine, and have collaborated on the theme and feel and ideas of the next issue. So that was a reality check.
There have been a couple of other reality checks as well, but I won't dwell on them.
Last night I read through the latest issue of Heartland. I liked Justus' articles on the Prius. It's amazing that this vehicle moves without a sound when it reverses, or accelerates slowly. Consumption is 5.5 litres per 100km, at a cruising speed of 130km/h. His sister Ane also wrote an upbeat article on staying in shape during the holiday season. Favourite quote: 'After a night out, and whilst under the influence, try not to indulge in a late night burger. Bring home someone ugly instead.'
Today I opened an account with BoE (Board of Executors) with a view to buying stocks - oil and gold. That should go through in a couple of days.
Inline with the weirdness that has suddenly backdropped recent events, Tammy, an ex-girlfriend's sister mysteriously sent her boyfriend today collect the remaining detritus of her life here. This is ostensibly to avoid meeting me.
Had some good food for lunch though, so something nourishing on an otherwise dippy day.
