How competitive is South Africa? Not very? Why? Well it shouldn't be a surprise [GRAPH]

Unsurprisingly, crime, lack of education and government inefficiency are seen as the main issues in the country - they accounted for over 50% of the votes from the surveyed executives for worst problem.

However, the report goes into even more detail, giving a list of very specific problems. For example, South Africa was the worst country among the 133 surveyed on the following factors: business costs of crime and violence; tuberculosis incidence; business impact of HIV/Aids; and quality of maths and science education.
