Bridgeville, Pittsburgh shooter and Christian George Sodini hated women

SHOOT: Interesting is that Sodini was bored beyond belief. He says:"It is easy for me to hide from my emotions for one more day..." He says he does this by 'driving in the car', or 'listening to music' or 'daydreaming'. A very empty existence, and one which he apparently obsessed that the solution, his salvation, was getting a woman [apparently any woman] to share it with. Apparently she had to notice and approach him.

And failing that, the solution to his unhappiness was killing the source of his problem [women who paid him no attention], and then, that job done, dispatching himself.

He seems meticulous and bitter, neat and reproachful for slight untidiness in his home. The home itself is soulless and characterless. It is almost devoid of color and life, save for the computer. The punching bag is an exception.

He evidently also hated his family and himself. It's possible that the idea of 'being with Jesus' and a better life after death gave him the impetus to go and kill. Because in an earlier attempt he 'chickened out'. Any rational person who knew they only had one life [and not a second life 'after death'], and appreciated that this is true for everyone else too, simply wouldn't do this.

Movies like APPALOOSA and BLACK HAWK DOWN and countless others which are apparently good also spread the mentality that many lives are expendable in order to bring out personal justice for one or two individuals. No one persons life is more important than anothers. They all have the same value.

Glad that the pregnant aerobics instructor survived this. Here's his blog.

Guardian: According to Sodini, he was a "total malfunction". No girlfriend since 1984. No sex since 1990, "rejected by 30 million" (his estimate of how many desirable single women exist). "Who knows why?" wrote Sodini. "I am not ugly or too weird." Really? Some might say that weird is a tame way to describe the act of driving to a gym to shoot people.

"Girls and women don't give me a second look anywhere," wrote Sodini. With these words, he could be another George Costanza, the Everyman sexual loser in Seinfeld, complaining to Jerry in their local diner. Indeed, elsewhere, video footage shows Sodini sitting in "rapt attention" at dating seminars. Another time, another context, a very "Costanza" thing to do.

What is happening here? Were the horrific events in Pittsburgh some kind of singleton Columbine? Instead of misfit, loner, high-school kids stalking corridors killing classmates, misfit, middle-aged dating reject guns down women at salsa classes because he isn't getting laid? Or is it bigger and weirder than that? Is Sodini an extreme example of a more widespread subliminal male rage, that can take many forms, but shares a common thread – it is all women's fault?

The news article, clipped below, is well worth a read.

He searched the Internet for information about serial killers, mass murderers and guns. He also researched laws regarding corruption of minors and the age of consent, according to WPXI-TV.

On Monday and Tuesday, Sodini took off from his job as a systems analyst at a Pittsburgh law firm - where he'd worked since 1999 - "to practice my routine and make sure it is well polished," he wrote in his diary. "I need to work out every detail, there is only one shot. ... Total effort is needed." He went to LA Fitness twice on Tuesday before returning again just before sundown for the last time.

A half-hour before the shooting, he called his mother, sounding distraught. Police say he did not disclose his plans to her.

There were four guns in the duffel bag. The killer retrieved three of them.

Sodini shot himself in the head with a .45-calibre pistol. Two women, who had fled the class, ran back in to tend to Primis, who asked one of them to call her husband.

blog it
From Sodini's blog:

August 2, 2009:
The biggest problem of all is not having relationships or friends, but not being able to achieve and acquire what I desire in those or many other areas. Everthing stays the same regardless of the effert I put in. If I had control over my life then I would be happier. But for about the past 30 years, I have not

August 3, 2009:
I took off today, Monday, and tomorrow to practice my routine and make sure it is well polished. I need to work out every detail, there is only one shot. Also I need to be completely immersed into something before I can be successful. I haven’t had a drink since Friday at about 2:30. Total effort needed. Tomorrow is the big day.

Unfortunately I talked to my neighbor today, who is very positive and upbeat. I need to remain focused and absorbed COMPLETELY. Last time I tried this, in January, I chickened out. Lets see how this new approach works.

Maybe soon, I will see God and Jesus. At least that is what I was told. Eternal life does NOT depend on works. If it did, we will all be in hell. Christ paid for EVERY sin, so how can I or you be judged BY GOD for a sin when the penalty was ALREADY paid. People judge but that does not matter. I was reading the Bible and The Integrity of God beginning yesterday, because soon I will see them.

I will try not to add anymore entries because this computer clicking distracts me.

Also, any of the “Practice Papers” left on my coffee table I used or the notes in my gym bag can be published freely. I will not be embarased, because, well, I will be dead. Some people like to study that stuff. Maybe all this will shed insight on why some people just cannot make things happen in their life, which can potentially benefit others.
Miscellaneous:

1. Probably 99% of the people who know me well don’t even think I was this crazy. Told by at least 100 girls/women over the years I was a “nice guy”. Not kidding.

2. Lee Ann Valdiserri had my baby in early 1991. Haven’t seen her since she was about four months into it. I knew her sister, Chris, from high school.

3. Net worth slightly more than $250K, (after all debt) as of end of 2008.

4. Death Lives!
