SHOOT THE DONKEY: South Africans Luck Out with New Virgin Atlantic Initiative

This promotion will be running until 30 September 2009 for the first ticket, where the travel period will be valid between 23 September and 30 November 2009 and the second return ticket is valid for travel between 01 October and 30 November 2010.

SHOOT: Thanks for this Karen W. Would never have known about this if it wasn't for you. Do you have news that SHOOT should known about? If so, Shoot The Donkey [in your subject line] at nickvanderleek@gmail.com.

The disappointment hovering over South African travelers, following the UK’s announcement that South Africans will need to incur an average minimum cost of R 938 to  attain a 6 month visitor visas, and up to R7000 to receive a 10 Year Visitor Visa in order to gain entry into the UK, has just been some what alleviated.

Sir Richard Branson recently announced that South Africans who fly with Virgin Atlantic from South Africa to London and who have incurred the Visitor Visas costs, will have the opportunity to receive a refund for the Visas fees incurred. This uplifting promotion is expected to encourage South Africans to visit the UK, following the disappointing news that the UK Home office are not willing to change their stance on the Visa status for South Africans for at least the next 2 years.

If your visa application is rejected, for any reason, within 30 days of purchasing your first return ticket, Virgin Atlantic will refund the first airline ticket without penalty.
